blue bin masterpiece.

Take
"Reduce. Reuse. Recycle"
to more than just throwing a carton in the bin...

IMAGINE this fun-kay suitcase chair next to a stack
of Louis Vuitton Monograms.... mmmmm =)

Putting a unique spin on antique furniture,
South American interior/furniture designer reinvents
the traditional uses of these antique pieces making them
more charming than ever.

Re-appropriation @ its best.

draining our bowl.

Pet Peeve: people that don't turn off their taps while
brushing their teeth or doing other modes of bathroom hygiene.

Why do people do that?!??!

I never realized how many people leave their taps
running while they do something else in the bathroom.

IT. IS. SO. FRICKEN. WASTEFUL.

Turn the darn thing off how hard is it?!%$@%

In the spirit of water conservation comes this special sink concept,
one that encourages and brings awareness of the
detrimental effects water wasting brings. (it kills things)
While you let the faucet run, the water level in the fishbowl
slowly lowers. Once you turn off the tap the water level will
resume its fully loaded state.
For all worried for the poor fishy, no need to fret,
it will never be drained out of its spherical abode.

The bowl is even connected to its own special water line so
it's environment ain't even contaminated nastalicious tap water.

This concept might actually be able to save the world,
one little fishy at a time.

empty calories.

This reminds me of my childhood fave show... 'ART ATTACK'.
Everyday things were used as the "paint" and a giant open space of was the "canvas".

Good. Flippin'. Times.

window on your wrist.

Before the times of watches and sundials,
the ancient people probably told the time by simply looking at the sky.
Mind you, I'm sure there was no urban glow or haze making it a million times easier anyways.

Reverting to oldschool-ness, the re-designed "Time of the Sky II" watch helps
you tell the time by showing the user a piece of our awesome atmosphere.

The watch is programmed to display a different shade of
blue/black (every few seconds) referring to the real sky at the time.
Now these different shades of blue really aren't going to help
you figure out the exact hour of day.
This watch ain't just conceptual, it's practical...ish.
A button on the side when pressed displays either a
sun or a moon indicating hour clock direction.

We're so swarmed with our day-to-day activities, issues,
problems, and never ending thoughts.
Maybe if we all just stopped and simply looked up,
we can see how small all these things are
... and maybe even learn to let go and carry on.

'we are always looking at some kind of window,
on the computer, mobile phone

and so on. and now a small window on one's arm...'

connect the auditory dots.

"Words"
by: Everyone- collabo with WNYC's Radiolab&NPR
directed by: Daniel Mercadante & Will Hoffman

The power of words, the links between them & an illustration as
to how everything in life ties together.
How many dots can you connect?
So reminiscent of personal Gr12 Journal Project--'Click'.

record my soul.

“The idea comes from a philosopher’s description of how your spirit lives in your body.
I imagine we are all, like cassettes, thoughts wrapped up in awkward packaging.”

-Gilbert Ryle

Non-traditional arts opens up eyes and a appreciation for the little
things that can really make something incredible & big.
Design & art is much more than the mere painting an sketches.
It's about revealing a soul, a concept.
The goal is, even more a moment, to instill intrigue + a faint smile.

Made from recycled cassette tapes.Paul Griffiths
Jimi Hendrix
Melora Creager
Lauryn Hill
Michael Jackson

There was something about cassette tapes that I really enjoyed.
There was something concrete about having a cassette or a
CD in your hand rather than an iPod. It almost made the music more real.

an eerie peace.

artist: SEBASTIAN E.

I'm on the fence about how I feel about his work.
'Disturbing' or 'Interesting' ?
That is the question. But as I flip through his this man's portfolio there's
something oddly serene about his rather provoking pieces.

Maybe its the blunt and vulgar translation of reality that really
send those chills down my spine.

The above piece was a temporary cemetery,
"An Attempt to Understanding a Statistic"
Brooklyn, New York
1100 crosses were planted representing the number of people
that die in a week in New York. Displaying the inevitable realities of life.

orrrr this one...
"Life Swings"-- Santiago, Chile

Public art piece infront of a rehab center for handicapped children.

" Both children with and without disabilities can choose
which of the two swings they want to use.
An early reminder of the parallel realities in life."

- - -
As deep and quirky as he can get his stench of surrealism makes him a pleasant quirky.

red light, green light.

conversation between a certain mcmini, fetus and i engaged in a little heat & a bit of mutual frustration.
another time before, a bb-resistant character and i went to bubble tea and had the same discussion (post looking over and seeing a table of 8. no movement...but in their soon-to-be carpel-ed fingers):

why are blackberry owners incapable of in-person interaction?

no lies and no denials.

i was 110% infected and guilty of the mad texter syndrome and still am while under the influence.

which is why im attempting in turning over my phone now.
when you dont see the blinking demon light ur nerves calm.

'Commodity Love'
by: Alice Wang
(for more)
at the end of the day, are we letting commodities take over our life and overrule the sparkle and magic between human interaction?
phone calls are now more sparse and texting has now dominated the networks.

i think maybe were all just longing little more attention from the person infront of you than for them to concentrate on the 2 x 3 (max) glowing rectangle.

not pointing fingers. i too am also still in mid-modification. I mean they don't call it a crackberry for no reason.
just yet another bb challenge-- stop at with the red light.
