giant horse heads.

No metaphors, no innuendos.
Just giant freakin' horse heads.

These heads tower about 30 meters above ground (100 feet for those of us that know imperial)
Artist Andy Scott spent over 9 years designing and assembling these sculptures on site in Falkirk, Scotland.  These steel horse busts were to bring to life the legendary Scottish water spirit that takes the form of a horse.

"The artistic intent is built around a contemporary sculptural monument. Water-borne, towering gateways into The Helix, the Forth & Clyde canal and Scotland, translating the legacy of the area into proud equine guardians,"  "I see The Kelpies as a personification of local and national equine history, of the lost industries of Scotland. I also envisage them as a symbol of modern Scotland—proud and majestic, of the people and the land. They are the culmination of cutting edge technology and hand crafted artisanship, created by our country's leading experts through international partnerships."

a love of 'X'

How can anyone deny the beauty and the simplicity of
'X'

I have been obsessed and captured by
"X marks the spot"
since I could remember.
From x____x being my favorite emoticon since the age of MSN,
to finding my obsession for Uglydolls,
The stumbling across to KAWS (Brian Donnelly)
on one fateful day in 3rd year.
This exhibition is one that I could practically
find myself in tears at.

KAWS @ PAFA
(Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts)
is his latest solo exhibition including his iconic vinyl sculptures
(with references to Bugs Bunny,
Michelin's Bibendum
and pretty much anything you can relate to)

The odd relationship between perfectly molded sculptures
& 19th century figure heads is enough to blow your
mind away the moment you enter the exhibition.
(insert tear jerking moment here)

don't let me see these at night.

You know those moments at night
when you swear you just saw something float by
outside your room in the dark light-less hallway?

YA.
I wouldn't wanna see these.

The aim is to get he audience provoked and
forcing them to interact with their environment and the piece itself.

The project 'Glazed Paradise'  was Mark Jenkin's indoor works
involving life-like figures placed throughout the gallery space
meant to freak the crap out encourage reactions.

By using public spaces to find his audience,
he forces people to interact with the environment.
His art is "as much a social experiment as it is an art project"

In my opinion, this is a pretty cute pun urbanites to really
judge the authenticity of their surroundings.

monkey poll.

N-O.

This is not the new additions to the 'Artifacts' sections @ the AGO.

These are Toilet Paper Roll Sculpture .

The faces of these totem-poll-wannabes are sculpted
by hand and then lathered with shellac and other pigments.

Talk about recycling.

the secret is in the tip.

They say, "good things come in small packages". 110% true.
I have had many things in my life that are bursting with joy, love and surprise--
all in compact little packages.

Plus its the small things in life that require immaculate amounts of detail & attention.
Therefore if you can master the art of the little things the big things
will automatically take care of itself :)

I absolutely adore everything miniature.
Ask my mommzie. Ever since I was little I've obsessed over things that were smaller:
models, fake foods, infants. If you were small i loved you.

Exploiting his natural steady hands hes uses a razor blade,
a sewing needle and a sculpting knife to create this miniature carved
graphite sculptures. From a month or 2... to a few years. each of these piece
use a lot more eye muscle than imaginable.

Mad detail in every one of these pieces.
THE HEART LINKS?!?!?
&&& THE HEART IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PENCIL?!
BEST. BY. FAR.

An HB pencil can be soo much more than the designated tool for Scantron bubbling.
An ultimate transformation of creativity from everyday objects.
