giant horse heads.

No metaphors, no innuendos.
Just giant freakin' horse heads.

These heads tower about 30 meters above ground (100 feet for those of us that know imperial)
Artist Andy Scott spent over 9 years designing and assembling these sculptures on site in Falkirk, Scotland.  These steel horse busts were to bring to life the legendary Scottish water spirit that takes the form of a horse.

"The artistic intent is built around a contemporary sculptural monument. Water-borne, towering gateways into The Helix, the Forth & Clyde canal and Scotland, translating the legacy of the area into proud equine guardians,"  "I see The Kelpies as a personification of local and national equine history, of the lost industries of Scotland. I also envisage them as a symbol of modern Scotland—proud and majestic, of the people and the land. They are the culmination of cutting edge technology and hand crafted artisanship, created by our country's leading experts through international partnerships."

1600 pandas.

Second Hong Kong post in a week.
I think I need to go back again.

Hong Kong's harbourfront has always been a stage and space
for gallery exhibitions & fun installations.

This time however, we have 1600 pandas
all made out up recycled paper sprinkled all over the
Hong Kong's International Airport Arrival hall.
This large display was a not so discreet message to spread
awareness and hopefully spark actual action from the people
to help save endangered bear species.

Not only unique to Hong Kong this is actually part of the
1600 Panda World Tour
1600
is also not a random number as according to the WWF
there are actually only SIXTEEN HUNDRED wild pandas left.
Let keep these cuties alive.
Organizers said that there will essentially be
"flash mobs of pandas" engulfing various Hong Kong landmarks.
Amongst these will probably be the Victoria Harbour, Shatin racecourse
Photo 3and even rumored to be on some of the trams.Photo 2
The video below even shows these little buggers "arriving" HKG.

this button up, divided.

Design is all about using your head.
It doesn't need to be complicated,
it just needs to be thought out.

"I have always been captured by 'A Story'. Both photographs and literature are transporters.  They access a space where you become the witness, and are able to examine life at a new perspective other than your own"

thousands of balloons.

I still remember when I watched 'Patch Adams' for the first time
and how mesmerized I was at the balloon scene.

Needless to say that until this very day
I'm awaiting for some sort of chance to encounter
such a magical quirky space...

AKA. i need to get my ass HERE.
NOW.

It's insane to think that these simple latex inflatables
can create such a dreamy, quirky and magical atmosphere.
(totally doing this for my wedding or something)
This is installation is a maze of white balloons
differing in opacity and in sizes...
so simple but so ridiculously BREATH TAKING

If I was lucky enough to end up in a space like this,
I'd be sure to frolic... then maybe do a few failed ballet movements too.
PERFECTION.
The artist's intention was to not only have you be able to soak in the
quirky fantastic nature of the balloon themselves
but to also move around in the quirky fantastic nature
that the balloons themselves pretty much choreograph.

paper bees.

This swarm of paper infection looks like a swamp of bumble bees to me
making a whole lot of awesome and visual stimuation...

These installation pieces try to tamper with the topic of
the "14 dimensions" & the "invisible and intangible matter"
