fringes.

For 3 years now I've been meaning to invest in the 3 tiered fringe Minnetonkas.
But of course everyone tells me to its too extra & tribal...
So this year, I think once & for all i shall simply accept
my Native cravings and go for these Fall jewels.
(plus this whole Anishnabe thing is a fall trend =P)

a Steve Jobs narration.

Unaired Apple Commercial, 1997
Narrated by: Steve Jobs

Ironic.
Little did he know he was one of those geniuses he was mentioning.
The world probably lost one of the biggest visionary of all times.

'Commencement Address @ Stanford University', 2005
Speaker: Steve Jobs

... WOW.
What. A. Man.

{ Steve Jobs 1955- 2011 }

"cakeface"--redefined.

{CakeFace} :

someone who wears so much makeup that
if they got water splashed on them.
their face would melt off.
exposing an ugly being.
most times they just go overboard.
and it looks terrible and too dark,
ew.
-Urbandictionary.com

Not that this editorial is really a reflection of that...
but I thought I'd share that mental trigger with everyone anyways =)

If anything this is a clear manifestation of artistic swooshes
over a few modely faces.

Quite simple yet extravagant.
Yet something tells me that only faces of a certain caliber can
rock these splatters of colour.

'Danish Finest',
beauty editorial inspired by Arne Jacobsen's Danish furniture design.

In collabo with Sidsel Marie Bog & Sarah P's styling
the lines and curse of classic Dutch furniture is REALLLLLLLY what's splashing
across these perfectionally symmetrical faces.

{ Inspired by: "The Swan" and "Seven" Chairs }
Let's be real now.
If this was done to my flat-ass Asian face, we'd all just think
I forgot to wash my hands after a bomb finger painting session.

rolling hills of shine.

With the invention of digitized music & the past 10 years of Apple's iPod domination.
The world of CDs is slowly diminishing and I can only imagine
HMV cringing from the pain.

So question is as people move into smaller spaces while
constantly needing more, then where did all the carriers of sound go?
....regardless, i would say using abandoned goods for giant installations
is the best option for these passe fun items.

65,000 CDs woven and turned into rolling hills of shinnnay
at the Centquatre @ the Halle d'Aubervilliers, Paris.
It kinda reminds me of a really shiny disco dress
or that children's book, 'Rainbow Fish' & the fish that one gill that was
shinyand special looking.

This whole piece was a huge statement on waste.
Life cycles. Life of Objects. Phase of Life in the Cycle of Waste.

. "...CDs seeing that this is an object from everyday life that is known to be on its way out of usefulness in our society. Eventually these shiny, once technological marvellous symbols of modernity will be cast away and thrown in with waste – other things that society has used up, spit out and moved on from."

I dreamed that I had to check my new schedule on RAMSS the other day.
I woke up realizing I never need to go to school again.

...DEVASTATED DEVASTATION (continues).
I miss school.
I miss the studio.
I miss the daily encounters of me and my famjam.

I believe I am less exciting of a person because of it.
My tweets aren't even as spazzy anymore.
My random outbursts are lackluster.

ARGH.
GIVE ME PURPOSEEEEEEE.
i am rotting.

plating.

It's more than just an artfully placed piece of deliciousness.
It's a multi-sensory dialogue with your SOUL.

Playa.
Latin Cuisine.
Chef John Sedlar's fingerprints.
Up close, they're little phrases of simple fresh notes.Step back and you have a story to tell your tastebuds.

This one is a sober reminder of the nuclear disaster in Japan.
Not only are you reminded of the world outside this restaurant,
but now you can also engage in a thoughtful conversation with
what may be an awkward first date
(this place is should be a definite must go for awkward turtles
at least you can eliminate the weird silences )

'Papas Salsa Verde'
The perfect 10 of a potato chip-- fresh & simply dressed with avocado & micro cilantro

--NOM.

Tamale Chipotle paired with wild mushrooms and filet mignon.
'Arepas Caracas'
(corn cakes stuffed with Mexican shrimp, mango, and cotija cheese)

This plate is almost like a time travelling device,
taking you back to the moment where the pro that cooked you
you food was nothing more than a mere boy actualizing his dreams.

just another day as a Stormtrooper.

Having now been a Stormtrooper myself.
(refer to image at the end of post.)

I just thought I'd share the fun-skis behind that
(sometimes) stone cold looking facade of ours.

write it white.

I remember that fateful day when I discovered
CHALK PAINT.

They were much better than the invention and the
appeal of window writers.

The fact that I could vandalize anywhere anytime got this
little Mok a little too excited for life.

This collection features no less than
Kartell's signature transparent polycarbonate
(there's no way you dont know THESE chairs)
&the embedded neon lights that sculpt and make
original funtastic forms for each seat.
