It is no news that Pugs are the new rage.
In an attempt to Pinterest search something
for a friend's birthday card. I stumbled upon
PUGLIE.

It has since officially taken over the wallpapers
of all my digital devices.

No need to thank me.
Enjoy.

pizza box projector...that comes with a pizza.

Strategies like this is EXACTLY why the rest of the world
has such a hard time catching up with the gimmicks &
goofy creativity innate in Asian culture.

Binge watching movies & eating pizza is a common denominator
in almost every junior high/highschool experience.
Ogilvy & Mathers in HK has hit the nail on the nose
with Pizza Hut's new--
BLOCK BUSTER BOX.
A bootleg projector can be made from every pizza box.
Your pizza comes equipped with a special lens that you
plug into the box itself.
(i am jealous.)

Don't know what to watch?
Don't sweat it the box comes with a
QR code that features various genres of mini films.
Plus, you can pretty much show anything on it.
(Netflix, marathon anyone?)
The idea of a fancy phone in a greasy box may
be unsanitary to some of you,
but the people of Hong Kong are RAVING over this new concept
& I cannot agree with them more.

Bring this puppy over and I'd be eating Pizza Hut,
until I get a projector in every room of my place.

stix and stones.

At first glance, this space was 110% reminiscent of a Starbucks location by
'Kengo Kuma & Associates' (here)
Wild Rocket Willin Low Produce Modsin

Crazy intimate and small in footprint the space emits the sense of home in the most effortless way possible.  One continuous motif repeated throughout may seem like a boring idea on paper, but in actuality, it cannot be more intricate and interesting.

A total of 15,000 wooden batons are joined togeter to make these helix type forms which double as a interesting screen for both privacy and sun. Housed in the 'Hangout' a hotel in Singapore.  PRODUCE was challenged with the task of revamping the 968 sq.ft space to something that was as comforting as the food that came out of their kitchen.

lower east side love.

Now the only reason why most females would know about the
Lower East Side is because
'Dan Humphy' from 'Gossip Girl' was from there.
(guilty)
Mind you, that show highlights the industrial loft chic character of the neighbourhood quite well.

The Lower East Side started off as one of the first spots
immigrants would actually live when moving to New York,
similar to many other initially undesirable neighbourhoods,
Lower East Side has been gentrified to a melting pot of
hipsters, foodies, coffee connoisseurs and all those charming subcultures
The one thing that's never changed is the heavy influence of art in the area,
this little nook of Manhattan is more than just a diamond in the rough.

The Ludlow is a 184-room hotel in the Lower East Side of Manhattan
that does a pretty darn good job of encapsulating this area's charisma into a home away from home.

Squished between a plethora of family own stores, graffiti street art and 5-Star Yelp bars,
The Ludlow
may just be the perfect stay for the urban hipster when visiting the Big Apple.
Plus, the bathroom only was all i needed to be convinced.

in our lunchbox.

Sweetgreen is a salad restaurant chain that has
launched a program called Sweetgreen in Schools
Their mission is to fight child obesity by
educating kids about health and nutrition.

These series of images show some jaw-dropping realities when showcasing
'School Lunches Around the World'.
We really see how North America measures up
to other countries in terms of what we're feeding kids.
Having worked in the food industry, I've always been
skeptical to the idea of "kid friendly food", since when
were nuggets and green giant better than
a chicken breast and an greek salad?
Why shelter kids from what they're supposed to be eating anyways?

Local fish on a bed of arugula, pasta with tomato sauce, caprese salad, baguette and some grapes

Pea soup, beet salad, carrot salad, bread and pannakkau (dessert pancake) with fresh berries

Steak, carrots, green beans, cheese and fresh fruit.

Pork with mixed veggies, black beans and rice, salad, bread and baked plantains.
Fish soup, tofu over rice, kimchi and fresh veggies.

Baked chicken over orzo, stuffed grape leaves, tomato and cucumber salad, fresh oranges, and greek yogurt with pomegranate seeds.

Mashed potatoes with sausage, borscht, cabbage and syrniki (a dessert pancake)

Sautéed shrimp over brown rice and vegetables, gazpacho, fresh peppers, bread and an orange.

Fried ‘popcorn’ chicken, mashed potatoes, peas, fruit cup and a chocolate chip cookie.

... and we wonder why Europeans do so much more gourmet cooking?
