giant horse heads.

No metaphors, no innuendos.
Just giant freakin' horse heads.

These heads tower about 30 meters above ground (100 feet for those of us that know imperial)
Artist Andy Scott spent over 9 years designing and assembling these sculptures on site in Falkirk, Scotland.  These steel horse busts were to bring to life the legendary Scottish water spirit that takes the form of a horse.

"The artistic intent is built around a contemporary sculptural monument. Water-borne, towering gateways into The Helix, the Forth & Clyde canal and Scotland, translating the legacy of the area into proud equine guardians,"  "I see The Kelpies as a personification of local and national equine history, of the lost industries of Scotland. I also envisage them as a symbol of modern Scotland—proud and majestic, of the people and the land. They are the culmination of cutting edge technology and hand crafted artisanship, created by our country's leading experts through international partnerships."

the real apple store.

A couple days ago was the official APPLE DAY!
A day marked mainly by the British.

In light of the occasion, the Borough market in London comissioned London Based agencies TimMan and  Teatime to create an installation to suit this humble fruit.

This installation showcased over 1000 different types of apples available in Britain today.  Some of the more rare that others and some that you wouldn't even dare pick up from the supermarket.

This is an obvious spin off to well known Apple Stores that are littered everywhere these days.  However, maybe this is a nice little reminder that technology aren't the only things around that can bring us wonder.  Your average apple can make you smile too.

truth.

"...spontaneity, the seeming inconsistency and erraticism the untrained eye sees, isn't a product of flightiness or lack of depth, but the opposite - it is a drive to express ideas about a mystical, all-encompassing energy, in the confines of a physical world, and underlying it all is the uniting principle of love, expressed in many different ways, but unshakeable and infinite at its core."
