dear RSID...

... I miss us.

We are all a Part of the Same Thing

'We Are All Part Of The Same Thing'
... truth

This goes to show that brilliant & awesome thoughts
are contagious and sprout in more minds than one (internationally)

"For too long, people have viewed themselves as separate and
I wanted to represent a multitude of individuals using the nails,
and then coloured string to show how we are all interconnected,
and that together,
we can make something beautiful. "

a car that's smarter than you.

The new Audi A6.

I'm pretty sure this ad just called us all a little dim-witted.
Not sure how offended I am.

'Audi A6' ad -- USA

fluffy the destroyer of the worlds.

4 days.
7 shifts.
30+ hrs walking in heels.

"You are the biggest unicorn.
When a pony does a good deed he gets a horn
and he becomes a unicorn
and he poops out cotton candy,
until he forgets that he's magical and then his horn falls off.
...
Black unicorns become zebras"

happification.

If I could name one and only one reason for why
Coca-Cola > Pepsi
...It has to be THEIR ADS.

Gotta love this short.
It's a simple step-to-step guide to how to be happy

"Happiness is the consequence of personal effort.
You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it.
You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings.
And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it.
You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever,
to stay afloat on top of it."

hope she uses a laser cutter.

Doilies got nothing on these paper landscapes.

Forget tracing, sketching things...
she brought this whole recreating thing to a new level.

Yup.
Spinny things.
Some of these are made into moving mechanical things.
These things whip around at the speed of light
(maybe that's a little too exaggerated, but you know what I mean)
with the help of gears and motors.

Truly the ultimate paper cut giver.

snorkling with spoons.

Recalling the beauty of the coral reefs in Dominican.
I remember thinking to myself how lovely the earth once was
before humans took over and just took it to the crapper.

How lovely the world once was without all the junk we pump into it
&& how upset I was when I saw a fishy ram itself into a plastic bag...

70%

of plastic ends up in the sea.

WWF's 3 print ads are spreading just that message.

Exceptional execution is not to be argued.
But how effective is the message exactly... ?

bad-ass.

After spoiling myself.
(7 days in Dominican & 3 in New York)
I came home realizing what I didn't buy.
R-I-N-G-S.

I used to always take rings as a very sacred piece of jewellery.
It represents so much.
So much promise & emotion.

...

but let's be real, its a waste if you don't rock em earlier.

plus i feel so bad-ass when i put them puppies on.
hehehe.

heartstrings.

This morning, smile & believe in love.

Truth.
[via the one of the people that keeps me afloat]

mah knittas.

Knitting: A word & an act that auto associates itself with
Grannys in rocking chairs.

& here's to an artist sticking a middle finger up to that presumption...
...Agata Oleksiak (Olek)

New York City-based artist takes her yarn and bombs the city with
exploding colours & crocheted madness.

"Yo yo yo, mah knittas! Olek is in da house…
sitting quietly, knitting seriously, day after day after day."

“I can be found in my studio with a pile of movies to watch
and a bottle of spiced Polish vodka,
aggressively re-weaving the world as I see fit.”

She's all for the knit existence.
Hence this explosion exists not just as random outbursts on the streets.
But huge kaboom if you ever walk into such a heavy knit
interior space.

Tell me you wouldn't freak out if you saw this wandering
around with you.

More than just a crazy reporter strapped in this knit stray jacket.
She also pimps some rides

Bulls Knit
-- gotta love the word plays.

“It was truly a year of guerrilla actions that opened a new path in my crocheted investigations. I started it with a bike and ended up with the Charging Bull as a Christmas gift to NYC and a tribute to the sculptor of the bull, Arturo di Modica, who in another guerrilla act, placed the bull on Wall Street in Christmas of 1987 as a symbol of the ‘strength and power of the American people’ following the 1987 Stock Market crash. This crocheted cover represents my best wishes to all of us. It will be a great, prosperous year with many wonderful surprises!!!”

So now that the fall has rolled around and smacked us in the face.
I've decided that this year maybe instead of investing
a million dollars into buying scarves, I might just knit/crochet one myself.

(Surprise! Little Mok does have other non-sense skills!)

MURSES-- loud & proud.

Man Bags.
More of a style item than an item of shame.

If you don't want one,
it's just cause your stupid and aren't assured enough of your masculinity to handle one of these attractive babies. either that, or you're too bounded by North American social norms. .. ya, its probably that.

Call me a cross dresser.
But I'm so down for one of these babies.
