ISSpresso is the first capsule-based espresso system that is able to work in the intense conditions known as the outer space. Argotec, an Italian engineering company (which I guess also clicks with the passion of espresso) specializes in aerospace systems. The company also also a leader in Europe for developing healthy options particularly for space consumption. Lavazza (renowned Italian coffee makers) collaborates with these space food enthusiasts and create a gem that can now create the perfect espresso in a zero-gravity environment.
This unit will be used in the "Corner Cafe" on the ISS (International Space Station) hence the cleverly named ISSpresso machine. This will be the first time a coffee is offered onboard the international space station.
Of course this contraption is not limited to espressos, it will be able to create caffe lungo, hot beverage such as tea infusions and broth.
After all, even astronauts need their caffeine.
